Do both these do the same thing.....CTEK D250s & Red Arc BCDC1225LV ? If so, is one any better than the other. I'm very confused after reading posts on this forum. What I have gleanes is that the BCDC1225LV will work with the smart charge alternators. You comments, advice is appreciated

I have read everything about these, but not being very electrically minded it became confusing. I am sticking with the Red Arc as I had one in the Sorento and it always kept the auxiliary battery charged, I am upgrading to a BCDC 1225LV which will still charge even with smart charger. (even though the Isuzu D Max doesn't have smart alternator)

I love the ctek and I think it is the better unit, but it's only weakness to the redarc is that it is only able to do upto 20A in put, as opposed to redarc. Which has a 40A model

I had the ctek in my previous two vans and used it with my alternator and as my solar reg. however, my new van I have gone for a separate solar reg and a redarc to have the best of both worlds and redundancy
