Carefree Awning Knobs

Hi Everyone, have an problem with the Black Plastic knobs on a Carefree awning arms on my 18.57.6
the have seems to be striped, has anyone else had this issue?

Most people don't tighten them then lose them.

Were they overtight?

Most caravan stores sell replacements - in fact I carry two spares!

Had the same problem with ours. As BoD mentioned Don't over tighten them . Pick spares up at any good caravan store. & yes I also carry spares for the same reason. LOL

Yep I'll put my hand up and say I have lost one :yield:

There not to bad to replace the tricky bit is getting the nut back in.

If its stripped is it the black knob sprinning on the bolt or the threaded section stripped.

Yes I have the same drama on mine. Haven't fixed it yet as I'm not sure how they exactly come out.
If they wont tighten just undo the the black knob all the way and the nut will fall out of the awning arm. Open the awning but leave it in the lowered position if that makes sense its easier to work on in that position to replace the nut in the sliding arm.
