Hi Greg.
For me if you want a steel that will take a winch then ARB.
If you want a great alloy non winch bar then I have found the ECB to be of great quality

I can second the ARB a mate has one on an SR5 and up the cape last year it was tough as nails.

I can also vouch for the TJM T3 bar (similar to ARB Sahara) - I just put one on the Prado and so far it is great. Only disappointment is that LED Parker's are an additional cost option with TJM.

Not everyone agrees, but I had 2 Ironman Protector bars on a 2010 Triton (first was replaced under warranty due to rust). I did not like it. In direct comparison to the ARB and the TJM it seemed weaker in construction, the design and the approach clearance under the wings was too low and it used a chassis extension mounting system to attach it. No matter how hard we tried or how many times it went back, we could never get the bolts tight enough to prevent it tilting forward on rough tracks and winching. Heaps of people love them though and I was told the way they attach to a Toyota is different to the Triton. That was the experience I had though.

Here is a Pic I have posted previously showing the difference in the approach angle from the Ironman to the ARB bars.

Hope this helps.

Either ARB or TJM, do not waste time with the Toyota factory bar. If ou want light weight and no winch, then have a look at the team poly bars. Remember he more the bar weighs, the more fuel you will use.

Yep ARB or TJM, Smart Bar is OK nice n light and winch compatible

ECB bars are "UGLY" :puke: and most only tac on over the original bar, talking to installer at 4b store the other day who'd just finished fitting one to and Xtrail who said they're a bitch to fit as well.

The reason I went for a ECB over a TJM alloy bar if that's what you want is we've had both twice and twice the ECB is a better quality bar hands down . Better allround IMO.
The TJM were thin cheap badly finished crap and we were so disappointed with the quality.
The led flashers were cheap and only worked when they wanted to and the rubber over riders fell off the TJM badges fell off they were just cheap crap !

We have had other TJM goods and they have been great . Its the alloy bars that we will never buy again

I've had 2 TJM bars on 2 D40 Navaras, the first one was great and I think Australian made (although happy to be corrected), the second one was a POS that I'm sure was made in China, had to use washers in the mounts to get it to sit reasonably straight and one of the outer loops around the headlights leant further forward than the other. It was replaced and the new one was still quite crooked and had to be packed with washers to make it fit neatly, changed my opinion on TJM.

Hi Greg
Cant Get any better than a quality Steel Bar from ARB. I have had them on all my 4x4's. I currently have colour coded Deluxe winch bars on our Prado and Ranger. Last week the one on the Ranger paid for itself after I hit a Deer at 90kmh. only minor panel damage to the bonnet and plastic grill if I didn't have one it could have been a lot worse. ARB accessories are my one and only choice.
