Today I spent a few hours wandering the Brisbane Ekka looking at all sorts of vans. It is amazing how many companies now put out a version of the expanda, nearly all more expensivefor not much more.

I priced virtually all the Jayco Expanda, Sterling and Discovery that were on show so for those interested (and even those that aren't )
here they are.
Expandas.....................................Discovery.........................................Sterling
...........................$................................................$...........................................$
14.44.4....O/B....38,905...............16,52.1.............33,300...............17.55.3.........44,990
14.44.5....O/B....43,135...............16.52.2.............33,300...............17.55.4.........44,990
16.49.1B..O/B....42,480...............16.52.3.............38,675...............17.55.7..O/B..47,990
16.49.3....O/B....46,330...............17.55.3.............40,260
16.49.4....O/B....42,480...............17.55.3....O/B...42.860...............Base Station
17.56.1....O/B....43,010...............17.55.4....O/B...42,860................17.51.2...O/B..47,775
17.56.2....O/B....47,760...............17.55.5....O/B...39,430
................................................17.55.5SH..O/B..42,150

Extras on all vans included solar panel and 100a/h battery, gas bayonet. All had awnings and inner spring matteresses, most still did not have LED's inside except all down lights appeared to be LED.

Prices said each van had been reduced and the posted prices were on road and a bargain. I think we have all improved on these prices and still can.

Excuse all the dots in the list but I can't get spaces or tabs to go from the typing box to the posting. :noidea:

Thanks for that chartrock. We are heading in today with intention to possibly put some money down. But will have to see what they are willing to do. I don't mind travelling if it means I can save some fairly good $$$$.

Bj, work out what you want and then phone around. Bundy are good. When we were in Victoria looking at a 20.62-3 it was $5-$6k cheaper than brissie.

Thanks Andrea,

I think Brisbane jayco seem to think that as they are basically the only dealer locally, they don't have to compete.
Will see what we can get. We aren't after too many extras as what we want to do wont be adding much int the way of weight so not sure how we will go.

We ordered our 14.44.4ob 2 weeks ago and got the fridge upgrade and more extra's and full annex and solar for less than the listed price above, and that was from brisbane camperland.

I love these shows, we had the one in the ACT this weekend too, first time I have not spent hours inside all the vans.... I did go into a few of the more exotic ones, told Bron they were for when the kids leave the nest... In terms of prices, when I bought mine, the bloke next to the factory in seaford started lower than the best price our local bloke eventually got down to. Looking at what I bought and comparing the prices (taking into account a couple of k for outback), I would expect to option it up and still come in about 4k cheaper than what's quoted. Good luck with the purchase.
