Hi Guys, we have just purchased a 2016 Jayco Expanda 14.44-4 Outback. I am thinking of having the Jayco/Fiamma fold out bike rack fitted (two bike), that is mounted on the back wall (the back wall is solid/does not expand). I am concerned at the extra weight this will add to the back of the van and potentially create sway when towing. I believe these bike racks were quite common on this model van. Has anyone got this setup and can advise if it has impacted on towing/safety? Cheers, Jason

I have a towbar style 4 bike rack on the rear bar of our 14 footer and haven’t experienced any sway with 4 bikes.

Jayco actually put extra bracing material in the rear wall when they build the van for the pre-ordered bike rack. To retro fit you would have to put something on the inside/internal wall to be safe.

I have the same van and bike carrier. I cant tell if the bikes are on or not. These vans tow pretty good anyway

Thanks guys, I am going to get our local Jayco Dealer in Perth to fit the bike rack just to be safe. I'm sure they have done heaps of them and know what they are doing.

Hi @JW077 , did you end up getting the bike rack fitted? Any photos? I have a 14.44-4 and I'm looking to fit the same racks and at the same dealership.
