The Minister For War and Finance has granted approval for purchase.

They told me that they have had a number of inquiries from people who seen the screens on this site. They also have got Jayco at Newcastle displaying the flys so I expect these will take off and other manufacturers will follow suit.

Took the Expanda up to Valley Canvas today. They have a great setup, in their manufacturing workshop and appear to be pumping out the annexes.

They confirmed that as a result of activity on this website they are churning out the bed flies. They showed me the 4oz canvas they use which is very light weight and appears very strong and difficult to tear.

We have done something a little different in that we have got them to make up clear plastic covers for both of the large windows so that if its raining you can still get some natural light into the van. The clear plastic windows will velcro onto the walls.

So stay tuned by this time next week they should be completed and fitted.

Here are our bed end covers. we paid $290 for bothe ends. They keep the water off the canvas really well and we have been in some torrential rain lately as I will be posting on another thread. DSCF2324.JPGDSCF2325.JPGDSCF2342.JPGDSCF2345.JPG

Hi randl007
They are exactly the style I wanted to get for my 14.44.4. who made yours?? I notice you are in Qld,I am on the Sunshine coast but it's no hassle to take it down to the big smoke if thats where you had them made. AM I right in guessing that those photo's were Taken at the Blue Dolphin Yamba (I go every new year)
Cheers

Correct it was the blue dolphin we have just got back and are going again in December. The covers were from a camp shop in cleveland which is south east of Brisbane. Here is there web site: http: www.campingsolutions.com.au. let me know if you want to know anything else

Hey randl007
They look great. Are they made of canvas or a poly - tarp type material? I went to an upholsterer today where he said it would be cheaper if we used the poly material. I thought it may flap and be quite noisy on a windy night. Also noisier when raining, but I would not have to waterproof it and would be lighter.
Thanks
Rohan

Its a polytarp material and has a couple of ties that loop around the stoppers under the bed where you would clip the fly. we have had a fair bit of wind and no flapping, the benefit as you say is that you do not need to proof it.

They look good. Do you think we could phone order and then just take the van over on completion for them to put the press studs on? I wonder if they'd be able to do them on sail tracking??

Picked my bed flies up today. Very happy with them at this stage.

They are easy to put on and can be done by one person because the weight of the canvas is very light. They use a pvc sail track product and a top and bottom press stud, using the existing ones on the expanda.

The clear PVC velcros on and will be good in wet weather in that you can have some natural light coming in without worrying about the rain.

These were purchased from Holiday Annexes http://www.holidayannexes.com.au/ For those up North they have an agent in Brisbane (I have no affiliation with this company).

They are not cheap but I am happy with the outcome.

Yeah they are valley canvas however, they seem to be changing their name. The cost for both ends with clear windows was $1190.00.

Very nice, this is the sort of solution Jayco should have offered. Interesting where they placed the sail track , it doesn't rub on the frame at all? I ran sail track on our Expanda for our vinyl ends but did it on the inside of the hard lid, doesn't look as good as that though.

Very nice NK, they put my ones to shame!

Do they come as a DIY install? Or do you have to take the van to them?
