Wondering if anyone has any recomendations on types of awning privacy screens available, especially when it comes to how they are secured to the awning, what to look out for and what to avoid.

cheers sledge

most are pretty good these days but it does pay to shop around a bit they can vary in price, the main long wall simply slides into the track on the awning drum, end walls, there is 2 types 1 has velcro that simply hangs from the top slide arm of the awning. the other is angled at top with a rope edge that slides into the Aussie Traveller style anti flap bars if you have them fitted. same as the end wall of a full annex does

Coast to Coast long wall, seems fine, slips into drum as Bushman said and then just peg down with bungee cord. A great extra to have, they not only block sun but they block a lot of wind and rain!

We recently just bought a coast to coasts shadewall and side and found it good so far but mind u havnt had any heavy rain or wind, recently just bought the anti flap bars as we'll , the Sunbuster ones, we're only $198 for 2. Will probably get a 3rd wall in solid, so one side can be abit more waterproof. A lot cheaper way of doing it than a full annexe room.image.jpg

Most times if the wind is not so bad, I just use pegs and occy straps. If in a windy spot then rope is best to use. I find that the occy straps even in the wind are fine though as they give a bit of play in the breeze. I still use a heavy guide rope at each end of my awning barrel to hold it down securely.

We have a shade wall and a tarp specifically made. We have a double sail tack so both are fitted if we want total waterproof the tarp goes down if not then we can roll it up. We have some pictures from our last trip but as this is my first post since then I have been a little slack. I will try to upload photos in the next couple of days

The images are of the tarp attached and rolled up, rolled down, Pegged out and the dual sail track this really adds a extra waterproof space.

The reason there are two holes in the Barrell just in case anyone is wondering. Jayco in their wisdom drilled the holes in the wrong place even though their were crosses marking the spot. Its an Australiawide annexe as well.
