"Just take some silicone, wd40 and duct tape and she'll be right.....and you are a member of NRMA aren't you?"

Seriously, I get mine checked pre end of warranty and sometimes it's very enlightening. I can't remember the price for the last one but it was 2013 I think and I don't think it was prohibitive.....maybe I expected it.

I hope he's a happy Chappy.

No Offence taken :p ....... Not a "qualified" mechanic but does sound like what I would say when asked to look at friends or family members cars ;)

Along with

"Brakes are a bit spongy, just pump them a few times and she'll pull you up fine"

"Towing capacity, mate she'll pull a bend out of a river"

"Just swap the front wheels to the back and your all good"

It's strange I've never been asked to check out someone's car....maybe they realise I'm totally inept in that area.

but.... I do listen to advice and check it out as best I can...and I'm very willing to learn

;)

Just say a few of the lines I have posted and people will think you are, watch out though as they might start asking you to check their new vehicles over for them.:fear:

Sorry I was missing in action!

I ended up buying it and could only bargain down an extra $200.

Got it for $35,800 which I am happy with. It seems like a great car in great condition ready for us to use straight away (we have no caravan yet though).

Will pick it up on Wednesday or Thursday. Need to bullet proof the side of the garage walls a bit more with foam padding so the car does not accidentally scrape the sides etc and organise a cover note but dealer said they may be able to get good deal on insurance through them so I will compare.

They will detail it again and give me a full tank of fuel.

Happy chappy!

As long as you got a decent change over price @Jared01 then the purchase or trade in price is a bit irrelavent, say the rrp was $50K and your trade was valued at 15K but the change over was 32K then they either discounted the rrp or bumped up your trade, or both, either way your still only paying 32K so that's the important bit.

Now that the unpleasant bit is over you can enjoy many years behind the wheel of a great tow and family wagon, which should perform those tasks with ease.

Ok time to remember that without pic's it didn't happen.

Are you sure they need to detail it? It looked fine to me.

Mine, on the other hand, really needs a detail....can they do mine instead?

Great news....we were all hanging out to find the result.

You must be really chuffed!

:p

" they don't make them like they used too"
"she aint bad mate, got a bit left in her I reckon"
"it's lighting up like a Christmas tree, but give it a squirt down the road and it should be good"

This is tongue in cheek guys before I offend said experienced machanics
