I also.... have a mini oil heater which sits about 50cm high. (Yes all this used to fit in the 16.49-2 Expanda!)
It is obviously quiet, and takes the edge off the chill at night. Bought from BigW a few years back but have never seen another one again.

What kind of oil heater? 240volt or actually burning oil?

but i am going to install a gas heater in the van soon.

what type of gas heater are you looking at installing. If it is the domestic type that plugs into a bayonet type fitting then I would seriously research it as I don't think it is recommended to operate this type of heater in confined spaces due to carbomn monoxide poisoning. I could be wrong but please check.

its a internal hard plumbed gas heater designed for caravans. so no chance of the poisoning. it is a ducted system. they cost around $1500 + plumber to fit the gas side of things. you can run up to 2 ducts in the van.
