Hi Everyone,

I need a couple of questions answered from the knowledge base contained on this great forum.

While we wait for the delivery of our 17.58-1 OB in December I need to organise a few items for the tug and these all relate to towing.

I need to know the towball/hitch (std 50mm ball hitch) height from the ground when the van is parked up level.

And for those with a WDH, what length bars are you running 28 or 30", I will have the extended drawbar on ours.

Oh, one last thing, what is the best or minimum length for a gas hose to reach the bayonet at the front if I have the weber on a small table near the front boot.

Thanks in advance for you relies.

We have a 17.56.2 outback with a trigg hitch and is ~410mm from ground level to the centre of the hitch.
I used 28" WDH bars on our previous 16.49.3 tourer (std drawbar) and worked fine.
We use a 3 metre hose and it reaches fine..... Not 100% sure but I think that may be the longest available (Others may be able to confirm?)

I have the same van as you only in a -3 with extended aframe, I am pretty sure the height is around 430mm mark but will check. I have a lifted Triton with a ARB rear bar/ reciever and needed the longer dropshank hitch to get close to level. Not sure on the bar length so will check that as well. Get the 3m hose for the weber so you can move it where you need to. Cheers and welcome to the forum.

eBay has them but be sure it's the right size for the bayonet on the van. Details on their sites should confirm.
(There are two different fittings, only one of which fits the Weber)

Also, maximimum legal size for the gas hose is 3m.....I wish it was longer but that's it.

Make sure it has a 3/8" SAE fitting to connect to the weber and not a 3/8"BSP fitting (The BSP ones WILL NOT fit..... Trust me  )

PS: If anyone wants a 3 metre long gas hose with a 3/8"BSP fitting just yell out :hopelessness:
