17.56.2 OB Tare Weight?

Took the van to a weigh bridge this week to see how we are traveling with the extra mods I've added, it looks like I have to cut back on some non essential items:wink:.

My first step is verifying the original empty weight of the van, the weight on the compliance plate is ATM - 2344, GTM - 2181, Tare - 1869 & Ball - 163.

The van had the following accessories fitted at the factory - 150l Fridge, Heron 2.2 Air cond, awning and other no weighty items i.e water level gauge etc.

The Tare weight and ball weight concern me, the Tare is only 16kg above what they quote on the Jayco web site for what I assume is the basic van with no add on's. The Heron Ac unit weighs 34kg alone + the larger fridge and awning, the way I see it the Tare should be higher.

I'm hoping someone else has a 17.56.2OB HL with similar accessories that I can compare Id plate weights with.

Cheers Turtle, your ATM is similar to mine. I have added some mods to mine and I've weighed them as I went but I can see where 475 kg has gone.

For info, if you want to compare OB V's STD, that is about 200 kg heavier tare and 45 kg heavier ball than our STD.

Thanks for the responses guys, I did some digging today and found the brochure we got in 2011 when we purchased the van and it stated that the Tare weight of a standard 17.56.2 OB with out add on's is aprox 1870kg, so that makes our van 1kg lighter even with all of the extras that we ordered????? I'm making a phone call to Jayco tomorrow to investigate this further, this does not add up!
