Thanks for the replies.

Spoke to dealer today - they have agreed that it should not be running all the time on either 240v or battery. Dealer can't get it in for servicing for at least two or three weeks at the earliest.

Might drop them a line to create a record of the issue and also see if they can just send me the Dometic thermal switch and instructions and I will fit it myself!

Sounds like a good outcome on the way.
Definately send an email so you have it in writing.
I'm not sure if you want to do it yourself. It's not a complicated wire by any means but access is very tricky, and if your fridge plays up later they might blame your install/modification. I would say it is better to let them handle all warranty work. Good luck
