Hi all,

Got a letter in the mail today from Dometic.

They are telling us that if you use the electric hot plate once finished, when you put the glass lid down it may shatter and cause glass to go through the griller. They are saying to call them and they will come out and fix it.

Funny thing is that they say on the gas it isnt an issue but they are saying not to use the electric untill fixed.

Not sure what they replace, hopefully the glass as ours has a fine scratch in it as it was the "show display model" :lol:

Wanted to see if anyone else got the "letter"

What year model Stuart?
I think mine has a sticker on it that says wait 15 min before closing the lid.

2011. Ours has a sticker on it as well, and they say even when you leave it for the time stated it still may crack. Maybe the electric element stays hotter for a lot longer.

Our 2010 Eagle had the same cook top as well. Not sure if that will be the same.

We have also received the letter from Dometic, will try and call them today to see what will be replaced and whether they come to us, or we have to take the van to them! hwell: Cheers

My Eagle had a sticker on it advised not to close the lid before letting the stove cool. As yet haven't seen a letter. Was it limited to a certain year?

Lets hope it's something that is sorted before we take delivery of our new van.
