Dexter anti sway system

We purchased a new caravan 3 years ago with the Dexter anti sway system. We didn’t get any information about its operation at all just that it was good and totally automatic. We travel a lot on outback roads with care and love it. During the trips you could feel the anti sway come into action giving the car a little jerk which we thought was what it should be doing. On getting the van serviced last year we were shown how badly the brakes were worn on the one side. These were replaced by a third party when the van was serviced. This year travelling in the outback we noticed several times that the van gave the car a jerk one time jamming on on one of the wheels. Later on the clean roads we noticed that one of the brand new tyres was ruined with a very large wear presumably when the anti sway jammed on. We have no way of disconnecting it. The lead readout mounted on the inside of the draw bar was smashed presumably by a rock thrown up off the road. Where we got it serviced said they didn’t know much about the anti sway system but would find out about it. We have since downloaded all the information about the leads and what they stand for and will re-mount the leads on the top of the draw bar and put some sort of protection over it. Our Dexter system doesn’t switch off on rough roads. Just food for thought about being able to disconnect it.

We have ESC on our van and the connection is through an anderson connector which can be disconnected if I need to but have never felt the need to do so. You could probably do the same, taking the relative wire from your plug and feeding it to the van through an anderson.
