Well with our first time stay at Merry Beach Caravan Resort, NSW located on the South Coast of NSW, it's 3.5hrs from Sydney and only 30 minutes south of Ulladulla.
Location simply bloody beautiful and the park it's self 8 out of 10.

Grounds 7/10 - if staying on beach front sites bring a VERY LONG power cord. Some site up to easy 15-20m power box from site. Only a hand full beach front site have pads I think from site 21 to 29. Pretty much all ensuites site have pads. NO main water so will need to have van water tanks full before arriving to van park. The park is on BORE WATER and only have 1 drinking taps available. There is a kids play area and a large swimming pool but not need due to beach right there.

Amenities 10/10 - There is 2 main amenities blocks nearby. I only used the same one and it was good. Looked new-ish but well cleaned and well maintained. I did use the showers once and it had excellent pressure, down side there is a cost 20 cent for about 3 minutes. It only takes 20 cents and the first 20 cents is gone because you're trying to get the temp right, so take 60 cents.

Animals Allowed - Dog are welcome but each dog owner must sign a dog policy form. Remember if taking your dog to take extra drinking water because I wouldn't give my dog bore water to drink. Be mindful that there is lots of Kangaroo's in the park and a fear few rabbits.

Fires - Yes fire are allowed. You can bring your own wood but there is a guy that comes through every day selling fire wood from his ute. Cost $12 per bag a good buy for my liking cut ready to go.

The Beach - simply beautiful and the colour of the water amazing and this is directly oppersite the van park. A short drive to Pretty Beach is also stunning.

Fishing - Beach fishing and rock fishing. A short walk around the cliff to Snapper Point well give you deeper water to fish in.

Walking Tracks - There is a walking track from inside the park that leads you to the top of the cliff called Snapper Point and to Pretty Beach which is about 2k walk

Kangaroo's - Are everywhere in and around the park. Driving to the park day or night must be taking with car as the wife found out hitting one in the new Ranger mid afternoon.
Now looking at bull bar options.

Police - Police are heavy in the area only Highway Patrol so stick to the speed limit. He seats in a pretty good spot.

Mobile Phone Service - Poor

Here is a few pics from our stay. Actual view from our bed.
Thanks I hope this review is helpful.

Clearly the Princess didnt see the "no water to sites" fine print when she booked, and the added bonus of paying for bore water showers. Interesting. No doubt, under the cover of darkness, Ill be charged with the joys of lugging countless jerrys of water and continuously decanting them into the tanks.

Wow starting to plan a big Sydney trip for September 2019 this might have to be added

Its a bit of a drive south of Sydney town...... You don't want to do it during holidays though, city style traffic snarls.
Lovely place though.

Checked out on WiKi camps, sounds like it hasn't changed in 30 yrs other than now horrendously expensive for not much more than a nice beach.

The only real thing letting the park down is the water issue if they had fresh drinking water to all the site it would be great. I'm sure this can be done as there is houses nearby.
Also remember I went in off peak so very little people about but would hate to see what it's like over peak season.

Is there any resistance to how much tap water you can liberate? Coral Bay is similarly annoying with no site taps and fresh water taps only at the 2 shower blocks to fill jerrys. Eviction is the punishment at Coral Bay if you get caught filling the van ... getting caught being the operative overrider.

Red Rock is similar with no potable water other than from a couple of tanks, great pressure and filling a van up is not an issue, sites have a bore water tap to share which is okay for showers or washing, not overpriced either and power points are within 5mts.
