Good luck with the move Pete. I wish you and your family all the best in your new venture int the sunshine state (although it is bucketing down at the moment and would blow a dog off his chain). I'd say drop in on your way north but Elaine and I will be up to our neck in Comm Games work from Sunday. Have a good trip and enjoy Townsville.

Hi all! So, we had a great trip up here - we took 10 days and poked along, stopped at some great spots along the way! Disappointed the van won’t fit in the shed at our rental in Townsville.. see what happens after 6 months we might buy somewhere that can squeeze my baby under cover.

Week one in Townsville consisted of lots of un-packing etc, week two I flew out to Mt Isa for work on the Monday, but had to fly home again on the Tuesday as Laura went into hospital with pneumonia! Poor thing is doing ok now, I worked from home and we got through it. Had a bit of a look around the Rockpool at the strand today, awesome place!

Townsville is a bloody beautiful spot :)

We have to find somewhere to live first. Will be living in the van for a while but will have to stay local to keep house hunting. :ballchain:
After the Comm Games/closing ceremony/Beattie disgrace, and that pic of you two being super buddies (although he was asleep), being homeless and mobile is probably best for you in the short to mid term :behindsofa:

All I can say is that I have enjoyed driving athletes and assorted "hangers on" around. I've met some fabulous people, found out a lot of info on other countries and populations and, despite long hours and a lot of sitting around waiting, I would be happy to do it all again. As for the "stuff ups" (PB's own words), what can I say? If Beter Beattie wants to have his photo taken with me, I am humble enough to allow it, even if he wants to shut his eyes, :boink:
