Good point, the good thing about these ones are that they have GPS so hopefully no fly always, they SHOULD just fly home back to the take off point. Having said that, it still is not going to stop you flying it into a tree or the ground!Word of advice, if you have not used a drone learn on a cheapie first

A mate of mine had a purpose built that held his really expensive canon dslr ($4000) it also had GPS he is a very experienced operator and went to the beach to shoot a Kitesurfing video, his very expensive Camera and Drone are somewhere off Pinnaroo point now.
and yes he did go slightly out of range and the GPS is supposed to kick in and bring it back but it just decided to land it about 1klm out to sea.
Mmmmmmm......I'm a conservative, you could say not a risk taking guy.....maybe a drone is not for me!:faint:
I've got a Phantom 3 Advanced. This is my second one after getting an original one last year.
The earlier versions (1, 2, 2V+) are far less capable than the 3.
I'll also admit that I am relatively conservative with mine as it's a lot of coin if you loose it. Having said that, I am now quite confident in it's abilities and as long as you take your time and ensure all the parametres are setup correctly in the DJI GO app before you fly, 90+% of the reported issues will be non-existent. Most are caused by human error.
I've now flown mine well out of visual range (~2K away) with full control still on my Ipad.
You can learn on these quite easily if all you're ever going to fly is something like a P3.
Racing quads on the other hand.....
I know @Crusty181 has one, but he's on an extended trip around, so I'm sure he'll chime in with advice too.
I haven't flown it since early Nov, just been busy, but I'm heading to QLD on Sunday for 2 weeks and I'm definately taking it.
Planning on flying it a few days up there.
Any questions, ask away.
Here's a short vid I made, just to whet your appetite....hehe
Why?Nice video @Matty4 (only slightly illegal near that helipad)
Thanks @Matty4 for the feedback. Great flying with great vision. I think I need one now! I've just had my birthday and missed the opportunity to ask the Mrs to get me one....missed Xmas as well.....I might ask for one for Valentine's Day :love-struck:I've got a Phantom 3 Advanced.
