G'day @Andrewm02 I just purchased one from Aliexpress. It should arrive tomorrow. Will let you know how it looks. I think it was the cheapest and includes the ducting, but the advert was a bit confusing. $550 AU including delivery.

I purchased this diesel tank from Supercheap Auto today.

It looks the same as what these guys use.

In regards to people saying that the fuel pump 'ticks' is that only an issue if you have the fuel pump mounted inside the van?

Was going to mount the unit under the lounge. Is it necessary to have a duct to suck the air in? Or would that area be too airtight.
Looks the goods @BigSkiddy and it will get a workout down here over winter, its been bloody freezing.

Your kit comes with the tank stand pipe which is good, the Eberspaecher stand pipe must be gold plated. One of the vents in the Aliexpress pic is the return air inlet. My heater is mounted under rear seat of the club lounge. I initially ran the heater without a return inlet and it ran fine, but because I didn't want to throw out the return vent I ended up putting it in out of the way at the other end of the club lounge. Ive checked it with a tissue, no air is being drawn through it.

The pump usually mounts under the van because it has to angle upwards, and the fuel line plugs into the bottom of the heater under the floor. The pump has a rubber mount which helps to deaden the sound. Pump tick whingers must be very very very sensitive .... because its not loud. The Eberspaecher rubber mount is pretty good at absorbing the tick; worst case you get one of those as a spare part if yours isn't as effective.

I have the pump mounted on the large front main cross member of the chassis, which is virtually directly under our fold out bed. I can hear it if I make an effort to listen, but its no bother to me. The Princess (Mrs Crusty) is a light sleeper (and a active and vocal critic. Ha) so if it was annoying I would have been well and truly advised by now.

You can use anyone. Unlike ebay you pay a 3rd party and the seller only gets there money after you tell this 3rd party that you have received the product.
I looked up my order and that seller no longer ships to Australia for some reason. When you go through them and find the cheapest price and postage combination as the cheapest listed price is not always the cheapest overall.

It just arrived. Has two digital controllers? I didn't order one.

No muffler, if needed I will add one. Vent looks big and is directional.

Looks like I'm missing a fuel filter, I'll rip one off the lawnmower.
No end cap rings on the air and exhaust. Also clips for fixing the exhaust. No real drama, probably have some in the shed.

Can anyone comment on how hot the unit itself gets? The most convenient spot to put it is near the battery. Would this be okay?

Had the same prob. Mine is right next to the battery. The unit doesn't get hot except for the end cap thing where the air comes out, the battery is in the battery box aswell so insulated a little. Have checked it after an hr running on full, no probs with mine.

The unit doesn't give off any heat, the ducting gets warm but that's about it. Mine pulls air from under the seat where the batteries are so it is always cool under there. My unit is about 4" from the batteries.

When its running flat out, the temp of the air is way past warm, its bloody hot. I can't hold my hand infant of the duct .... If you pointed it directly at the floor it would not be good for the vinyl or the glue underneath. Comfort come at a cost.

As @ShaneT said the heater itself is barely warm to touch and same for the ducting, but the floor mounting plate gets really hot

Where is that avatar pic in the snow ... and more importantly if you got through that without a ducted heater I think your already good

It was here.

Had a powered site and had two heaters going inside. Got the diesel heater for free camping.

I got my heater in, works great. Might need to knock up a silencer for the air intake and a muffler for the exhaust.

Great snow pics, Ive mentioned to Princes Crusty as a joke we van it up to the snow .... but I never imagined people actually do it. We generally rent a house at the snow, and the amount the wet clothes and crap we take would struggle to fit in the van. You've given me some ammo to put up to the Princess

I shoved the air intake pipe into a short length of PCV pipe with a "T" on the end, and shoved some foam from the egg shell bed underlay into the "T" bit ... and that knocked the air intake volume down substantially. Just cable tied the PVC to a water pipes

Exhaust was a bit loud so I went to the kitchen, the roof cavity, then the shed and presto a muffler.

Works well.
Also used some of the clear sullage pipe to mount the fuel pump. Can't hear it now.

@BigSkiddy I tip my very attractive hat to you MacGyver, well done ....
So I finally bit the bulllet today and ordered my heater from AliExpress. We are heading to Qld in Sep and are going to free camp our way up inland, maybe stop and look at the dubbo zoo and also go to Lightning Ridge.

Does anyone know where I can buy the quick connect for the fuel line on the Jerry can and also can you buy extra lengths of exhaust pipe locally.

I have a 20.63-1 and am looking at installing it in the cupboard on the left when you walk in the door. I would like to run the exhaust to the other side of the van so it doesnt vent out near the door.

@ShaneT Do you have any pictures of your install. Would be interested to see where you installed your heater.

Good work. I think you might struggle with a quick connect, the hard fuel line is about 1mm and all the factory connectors are just shorts of rubber fuel hose you jamb the fuel line into. If you ran the exhaust and pointed it toward the off side, regardless if it reached I think you be ok with the fumes so long as it was pointing that way.
