Just wondering what I need to get...

I am new to this. Pick up my first van (21.64-1) next week and have a LC200.

What do I need to tow this monster. It has a rough tare of 2400kg and payload of 600 kg.
Recommendations for stabilisers, weight distribution, mirrors etc....

Thanks in advance

Definately mirrors mate. And, Either fit your cruiser with arse-end air bags or get a WDH mate. i'm leaning heavily on the air bag side... Theyre great :)

Yep. I'm with Bushman. A WDH will help overall with levelling but more importantly more responsive steering.

@GCMASOS,

Absolutely go the WDH, even with the airbags.

When I picked up the van (17.56-2 OB), as the LC200 tow point is rather high, the dealer and I found that the normal Hayman Reese WDH kit did not have enough drop to have the van level, so I had to go with the hitch and a larger drop as pictured here. Was a little more $$ than the standard kit as the drop hitch and the WDH are sold separately.

Tows like a dream! Cruiser does not even know it is there :D

Cheers,

Rohan

i also use the anti sway bar on the drivers side, no air bags as i have found they stiffen the ride a little. but i am going to remove the rear springs alltogether and replace them with self leveling airbags and adjustable control from inside the cab. they are worth around $3500 installed. then i can get rid of the wdh. i have the petrol saraha 3 inch exhaust and kn air filter. towing 3100 kg, 4 bijes on the roof, 7 people on board and fully loaded fuel of 250 lts (larger fuel tank) i get around 20-22 ltr per 100 kays. average speed of just over 100kmph.

I haven't had any dramas with the van so far. Been away a few times. Is very stable and levels out nicely. My hitch is alot higher than the one pictured.

@GCMASOS,
Wow that is low to the ground. Does it scrape on dirt roads. I wonder why jayco have the tow ball hitch on the van under the a- frame and not on top like every other trailer.

Looks pretty tight and low to get the chains crossed under the hitch and draw bar as well... some states say they must be crossed when two chains are fitted... It provides better direction control and helps prevent the front of the draw bar hitting the road if the coupling fails or disconnects...

Looks very low...as cruiser rides fairly high normally I just have the standard off road toyota tow bar amd it levels out really good.

Yep - low hitch problem (a.k.a. "The Plow") and rear-end dropping will be going away as we are getting a GVM upgrade to 3,800KG, 2" lift front and rear, along with PolyAirs, bulbar & winch fitted!

Happy Days! :D
