as the Challenger is a Triton wagon (everywhere else but Aust) with the same running gear, it is a very capable vehicle
you will find (as I have had) that a lot of people dismiss it as not good enough, when the are very very wrong
my mate is a "died in the wool Bitzamissing fan" he has tried to explain to me the errors of my wayward car purchases.............

and I was having a joke........
It may be capable but sucks the juice (auto)! To be honest I hate mine and will be getting rid of it at the first opportunity.

Has been supposedly checked during first service and within parameters. Just driving around the burbs I average 16-17 L/100. I am by no means heavy booted either - the Hilux I had before this averaged 8.7/100 in the same driving. Absolute best I have had from the Challenger so far was on a completely empty vehicle run with the family out to near Toowoomba where I managed to squeeze 9.9L/100. Have never come close to it since. If I have the a/c on add another 1.5-2 to those figures. Also the auto is as gutless as they come. No idea how they reckon they can tow 3000kg - if want to only travel at 40klm/hr maybe!

Anyway whinge over. I know have gone on about it before.

At this stage have narrowed the next choice to three probably completely varied between choices... Prado GXL (Diesel), Jeep Grand Cherokee (unlikely) and swmbo wants to throw a MU-X in there. My ideal choice will be a Prado, but a few ducks have to line up before that is a possibility. I want the next car to be a long termer and set up for a half lap in a few years. Love the long range tanksa and just love the Toyota's.

Nahhhh the RAV4 is a long lost cousin of the Landcruiser and Prado

Stop this talk about comparison of the Landcruiser and the Prado........... I miss my old LC100 V8 and not allowed to upgrade the Prado to another one yet >:(
