Jan 2015 Jayco Silverline Outback 25.78.5. Has 3 water tanks, 250lt grey tank, 600AH LiFePO4 Battery, 1080w solar and Outback 80 controller, 215lt Waeco compressor fridge, 265/70/16 AT tyres Webasto 2KW diesel heater. 1200w PSW inverter auto switching entire van on 230v when powered up. Extremely comfortable touring van but is a tad on the heavy side. Had the ATM increased to 3499kg at build and we are running right on the limit when full of water and gas on the road.
This was pick up day - we traded our 2011 24.75.2 (van on the left)

All I can say is WOW !!

Where the lithium batteries fitted during the build or as after market ?

I've been looking at going with them for the weight saving and capacity increase but need to sell my first born to pay for them.

I doubt that Jayco would look at getting involved with LiFePO4 technology at this stage !! I fitted a 200AH unit to our last van and intended fitting that unit to this van. However the cells I have now I found on our NZ "Trade me" on line auction site and comprised 50% of an off grid house storage system. The cells were 3 years old and although they needed balancing appear to be in perfect condition. I paid $NZ2500 for the eight 300AH 3.2v cells and I sold my three year old 200AH unit for $NZ1000. The AGM battery that was supplied with the new Silverline was simply fitted into the Sterling we traded.in. We run our pop up toaster, Nespresso coffee machine. portable induction hob, heated towel rails, electric blankets and heat most of our hot water using a 1200w PSW inverter and the 215lt Waeco compressor fridge chews through around 75AH every day as well. The 1080w solar is working as expected with close to 50 Amps being delivered to the battery up until it was full again about 12.30. We are currently living in the rig full time and this is providing a good test for the system. I will never go back to lead acid storage batteries now.

Cheers Chris
