First Caravan 17.56

First Caravan picked up just before Australia day long weekend.
First trip away was the Australia day long weekend. We had been campers for the last six years.
It's a December 2011 17.56OB.
Couple of photos on pick up and last one setup after a week off cleaning and polishing.

Brilliant, now let the spending begin

Hey that's a nice bike rack on the back.

Yeah bike rake came with the van. An engineering shop actually made it. Has new RHS welded to the chassis where the original Jayco bumper would have mounted.
Rite about the spending, we had been researching vans for 12 month before buying this and all the little extras that we seen along the way have now start to be purchased. Not to mention since finding this site all the other things I now want to do

We also are awaiting delivery of a 17.56.1 outback, our "other car" is a fwd Kluger. I was wondering how you go with tow ball and towing weights? Is the AWD a bit higher? Looks like a gret setup.

Mate as mentioned here http://www.expandasdownunder.com/threads/obriens-17-56-2hl-ob.4621/ its rite up on its weight limit.
Klugers are 2,000kg tow and 200kg tow ball down weight. We'll be traveling with no fluids on board and lite on everything else for now. At this stage no big trips planned so traveling light will be easy. Kluger tows it easy, ours is an AWD. Initial take off from stand still is a bit of strain but once going all good. We have also added raised and stiffer kings springs so no doubt help with towing. Springs are also still progressive rate so around town still rides nice even though they are stiffer rating.
