For anyone who is wondering - this report above, is for one of the "back-water" sites, popular with local fishos and skiers.

The main park at Wyangala is about 20mins down the road from here, and is really great. Great facilities, friendly service, cheap entry and fees, service station with takeaway and corner store. I loove Wyangala dam :) peak periods (not so much christmas, but boxing day thru to the days after NYE, easter long weekend) get verrrry busy, if you wanta powered site, book in advance. Otherwise, usually quite pleasant, quiet and friendly. Most of the younger partiers head away from the park area into the hills as the rangers keep a good eye on the place and a tight leash on loud music etc.

No telstra service (yeeeehaw) but optus does have coverage. So much 4x4ing and bushwalking, lots to see and explore. Skiing and fishing is good, skiing is better up the backwaters though, into the rivers rather than the main dam.

4/5 for sure :)
