Winton Waltzing Matilda centre

Just heard on the news the Waltzing Matilda centre has burnt down. Such bad news for the local economy we visited it a couple of years ago with lots of local history items that cannot be replaced

So bloody sad, some irreplaceable items especially in the WW1 display. They had an Art exhibition there just a couple of weeks ago so suppose these 2 wonderful sketches are destroyed, I should have bought them when I had the chance.

Very sad news indeed, a tough blow to a community already doing it rough with the drought, while most of the displays etc. are irreplaceable I'm sure they find some way to bounce back.

Was there last week, a fabulous time for us - very devastating.

Yep. Get out there. They need us mor than ever now. It's beautiful country and a district worth travelling to.

Still lots to see out there, another great part of Australia. A shame it happened we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the museum learning about Australian history.

On the news reports the locals are hoping to rebuild.

There sure is heaps of other attractions, The Transport Museum is just amazing seeing the restored old vehicles, you have the Australian Age of Dinosaurs, The Gregory Pub and a couple of interesting drives around the place to name just a few.
