Water pooling on new Expanda

We've taken delivery of our new 16.49.1 Expanda and set it up in the drive to load it up, just in time for a weekend of heavy rain.

We noticed that water pools on the outer edge of the tents both ends, under the hard lids. Is this normal or a problem, and if so, what should we do about it.

Hi Percy, this should not happen unless the rain blew in with strong wind. More than likely it's leaking from your hinge, just check with the hose. I sealed mine myself with some white sika but Jayco will do it under warranty for you. In the mean time if your going to use your van before this can be done get some white duct tape and seal with that if that's what the problem is. I'm sure someone else might have other suggested causes/remedies for the water.

the other area it comes in is down the side of the hard lid. If you get chance to put water on the hard lid watch where it falls off as sometimes it lands on the canvas top and then pools. I would also suggest that if you get the hinge sealed you check with lots of water as it could end up coming into the van instead.
