That is really useful info. I think that I am dreaming if I think I can get away with a 300kg payload limit with 4 kids and all their "condiments" :)

That does add up quick, clothes is also a big killer in the weight department you just have to carry a clothes bag and wonder what it weighs.
As a result we have stopped packing for the ''what if's'' as we only seem to use half what we would take  well maybe not half but you know what I mean

Thanks for sharing. Te generator eats up a fair bit.

Kind of glad i pushed for the extra 75kg on my payload now.

Ask the dealer if this can be done on yours maybe.

In the jayco owners handbook (page52) it gives the standard payloads as follows
Single axle no shower 300kg
Single axle with shower 375kg
Tandem axle no shower 400kg
Tandem axle with shower 475kg
Moto you got an external shower with yours didn't you? that might be why they let you have the extra 75kg

Sound like you're right bigman, I don't understand how they can add extra weight like a shower and the payload increases? They must use higher rated springs and axles?

just a thought.... if your payload is calculated on top of your TARE weight.. wouldn't you be better off buy all the Jayco extras, solar, battery etc so you gain more payload?

Yes you are right. The dealer I talked to confirmed this. A pretty good sales ploy too I might add. :) Maybe you could talk the guys making it to add a dozen bricks when they weigh your van to get the tare up a bit. lol

As for how the payload increases by adding a shower/toilet who knows??? But I think you hit the nail on the head drewy....
