Interior Trojan Water pump alternatives

Hi team,
Does anyone know if there is a fix for the "jamming" hand pump over my sink? A brand new (common brand) that failed on the first outing. It will lift up but then locks solid on the down stroke.
The retailer has other options as a replacement under warranty but I see poor reports on these as well, so maybe there's as simple??? fix to make it reliable or is there a good alternative one on the market?

Long time since I played with these annoying things............
Lets see if I recall the tension of the pump mount can restrict/distort the pump stroke, I would dismantle the pump, lube with vaseline/olive oil, check the mounting point of the the O ring seal some have a tension washer configuration, I think they all have rubber O rings now instead of leather washers..............

If the flapper valve jams it won't cycle as the water you have sucked up won't compress.

Than again it might be stuffed....

Many, many, many years ago I had to put a 20lt jerry of water on roof of poptop, hose fitted to run down to sink in van......as the mongrel pump failed....

I do remember I hated the damn things..

Found a New Zealand made product that seems to be good quality, and installed easily. More robust than the Chinese made pumps available from the regular outlets, time will tell.
