My wife and I and 3 kids (under 8) are planning on buying a caravan. We really like the space the Expanda offers but are not sure about the model to get. We want an en suite and so have been considering the bunk model with the toilet and shower. Sleeping for the extra child is the main problem. Two can share the double but we need a bed for the third, hence the bunk model.
The issue we are concerned about with the bunk + toilet/shower models is a subsequent lack of storage space for clothes. Then we noticed the older (06-07) 18ft hard top models that have the slide out sofa.
The question we have is can this slide out sofa be used as a bed? and if so how long is it roughly. It's hard to tell from pics online. Also given the larger weight of these vans would it be silly or dangerous to consider towing them with something like a Navara D22 3TD?
Really appreciate any guidance those who have one of these vans can give!!
