I've been meaning to start a thread on the tug boat for a while, so now that I'm slacking off in Kununurra I thought "just do it". The next bit is stolen from "Show and Shine".

Landcruiser 200 series Sept 2014 GXL TTD Plus a few mods.
Lovells lift: 70mm at the front and 40mm at the rear
ARB Sahara bar
VRS 9000lb winch
rear storage (home made)
Arc battery box with 120ah battery - Battery box now modified into just a box due to it's circuit board and charger failing.
Waeco CF40 fridge
Aldi compressor - now removed due to it failing.
Recovery kit
First aid kit and a few camping items
Clearview mirrors
Safari snorkell

Aldi Air Compressor has been replaced with an ARB compressor at Alice Springs. Temporary install in the back until we get home. It'll get moved to the front of the car then. The wiring loom has been laid across the back floor and connected to the 12 plug for power.

New Projecta battery isolator/charger installed at Kununurra. I've used the bracket provided by Projecta to place it in the battery tray. Running the battery cable along the passenger side and through the firewall rubber boot and then through the trim to the rear behind the middle row of seats. Plenty of room under the trim for the cable.

Great 200.

I've got the Aldi compressor as well, it's powerful but I must admit it makes a strange noise!

awesome toast @peterg

one question
why have you got your spare wheel in the back.........???????

I hate picking up my missus 17" ones when they are laying flat on the ground, just to change a tyre.........
let alone trying to pick it up and put it in the back............

It's the second spare. From in the back I only have to lift and roll, I don't have to try and line up bolts on a high mounted swing away bracket.

I suspect that mine was made on a Friday and didn't like the ride in a Landcruiser, maybe it would have preferred a Range Rover!

there I was thinking - "hmmmm, he put in a long range tank (without telling) and had to put the spare somewhere............"

not smart enough on a Friday evening to think about a SECOND spare...........

How do you find the Toyo's @peterg . I am due for tyres soon, so looking at options, did you go 285/70R17?
The Toyos are good. I stuck with the 285/65R17's as I've got a 50mm lift kit on the car. The change to 70 ratio would have meant I'd need an engineers report.

Around 15,000km on them now and very little wear. Tyre noise is low.

We've done around 1,000km off road including the Gibb River Road and a few other harsh surfaces. Very little sign of wear. I don't let them down when off road like many people do and generally sit on 80-100km/hr.

Another thing to remember when putting the winch control box on the front bar. The controller will vibrate on corrugations a lot.

So tomorrow's job is to put new nuts and bolts on it, along with some loctite.

Oh and not to forget to get the bar resprayed when we eventually get home.

Yeah somebody lcool posted up issues with the controller and vibrations. The controller base also cracks around the bolt holes. I mounted mine to the bar with rubber so there's a bit of insulation

I have mine mounted up underneath the Bull Bar out of the way, with the plug for the winch lead all thats there
I also had the winch wired for "in car"
I can sit on my fat "4 hoofed animal" while the "navvy" runs the lead out
tis fun to stop without telling them........ especially when its up hill...........

I dismantled mine and made up a bracket and fitted it under the bonnet. Only downside is the bonnet has to be opened to plug in the controller but it also comes with a remote :)

Thinking that when i get home I'll follow @dagree lead and move it to under the bonnet. I've already got dash controls for it so i might extend the units controller unit from under the bonnet out onto the bull bar. That way i still have the option of using the units standard control trigger.

Lots of car mods coming out of this trip.
