We stayed there a couple weeks ago check out the butcher and bakery in main street really good

yep the butcher was great, we had a good old chat while i was there, no other customers at the time, found a great cafe in side street just down from newsagent but can't remember the name of it.

Hard to believe that this town was under water not that long ago, plenty of work going on lifting homes along the river bank

Now when you stop in at the Pelican you must pay a visit to Riversands Wines, it's in town virtually and it has a wonderful array of wines, the Port is superb. Bloody cold here today perfect for testing Port. www.riversandswines.com

Pelican Rest- Great spot.
Nindigully pub is a must do side trip. We were there recently and the Jeep whilst lonely in the car park was right at home!

In the back area, there is fantastic play area for the kids. We definitely will be back next time to stay in the van. The showers look good too.

We also will be camping at Nindigully and using it as a base, only about a 6 hr drive from my place, Kayak on roof for a bit of fishing in the river for sure.

Pelican Rest at St George has upgraded their camp kitchen, now has a big fire place, glass enclosed type so you can sit around and enjoy your tucker or the TV, nice addition to the Pizza Oven, barbie, gas cook top, fridge and seating.
