My outback also has the packers, but the axles are also underslung, but it's also a dual axle 17', so this may also be a difference in how they set them up.

It is interesting, the extra packers must be to get the height they want due to the offset axle set up

Matty interesting that yours only has the nyloc nuts. Ours has the full nut then the nyloc to lock it? I have spoken to two spring guys and the twin packers are because of the spring bolt height. The larger spring packs have bigger bolts.

Yes they are " outback" springs. Which are different to the " on road " springs. Made by Alko info on there web site.

I have had all 4 springs replaced, so there was a possibility that the factory setup did have the nut with the nyloc on top.
maybe when it was done they decided that it wasn't really necessary.

The springs were replaced by a mobile caravan service agent, who is also an authorised jayco service agent, so who knows.

Yeah could be. Why were the springs replaced, sagged or broken?

Fish plates are the square plates which the U bolts go thru and hold everything together, always pays to have a set of U bolts, nuts and a fish plate in the spares box, usually find mild steel washers are used and these distort/collapse, bolts won't hold tension and U bolts then get loose and things break, using HT washers means things should stay tensioned and safe. When I checked mine after I bought it I found crushed/distorted mild steel washers .
