20' Series No Power on USB on Drifter

I was hoping to plug in my "dongle" type. 4g modem into the USB outlet on the side of the drifter control panel to keep the modem charged. But when I plug the modem into the side of the drifter, it wont charge the modem.
Any ideas on why this wont charge.

Did you turn the battery switch on ?

It could be low output, and your USB device may draw too much power

If your modem has a battery and is similar to this .....

........then the USB port hasn't the power to charge it, mine needs and prefers 1.5amp , the Drifter is 0.9amp...... MIne just stays plugged into a dedicated USB port..........................................
Now if your 4G dongle is one of these jobbies.....

....... it doesn't have a battery and needs to be plugged into a computer to operate.

Yes it does have a battery and I’m thinking the modem is requiring more amps than the USB port can supply.
