Summer hols this year and first trip in new Panda, we are heading off to Narooma. Distance is about 700km, google maps thinks it will take about 8 hrs 40 mins. Would prefer to do it in 1 day, or should we break into 2 and overnight ?

Up to you mate,Traffic mite slow you down,so take that into account.Depending of when you are leaving, traffic and wild life are things to think of.
If your not in a rush why not stop half way Like Lakes Entrance/Orbost or similar

Better to break it up especially this time of year, and if your not use to the van behind you, just remember those google times don't factor in your towing speeds travel etc, I prefer dont to do big K's in a day if I dont have too

Thanks Gents, think we will split into 2 days, now to find a campsite that will take us for 1 night....

I have to agree with Chartrock! Then maybe I'm older than some!!
I remember on a trip to Central Australia in 1991?? - there were 8 families - trip organised by my brother - longest day started at 8AM and finished at 9PM in Palm Valley - tired children and parents - if I could have pressed an instant transport button back home I would have!! Then again what a great time we had!!

Cheers!

Thinking of stopping at Cann River, should be about 7 hours from Melbourne. Anyone stayed there ?

I have never stayed at Cann River but have stayed at Orbost CP before about 6 years ago.

It was a nice park and you can walk into town. Sorry I cant remember what it was called.
