If any one lucky enough to be in QLD and planning on running to Fraser then barge tickets purchase has changed while building works are carried out...... Of course the best way to buy your QPWS beach and camping Permits is online with big savings compared to the QPWS office or other places.

As of Sunday 25th July 2021, Manta Ray Barge & Permit Office at 66 Rainbow Beach Road, Rainbow Beach will be CLOSED to make way for the construction of a new service station and Barge office.
All bookings for the barge and Qld Parks Vehicle and Camping permits will need to be done by contacting us at least one day prior to travel on 07 5486 3935, Mon to Sat 7am to 3pm. we will be unavailable as a walk-in service while construction is underway. Please note the barge remains unaffected and will operate as normal 6am to 5.15pm each day, you may purchase your barge ticket on board while the office is closed by Cash or EFT.
I look forward to seeing you all again in our new office, until then call me 075486 3935 and I arrange all your tickets in advance

If planning on heading to Fraser Island the barge may be leaving from Bullocky Point boat ramp not Innskip, seems the point is a bit damp... I wonder how many ignored the high tide warning for camp sites this time around, usually quite a few go under because they know better... Pic from Rainbow Helicopters...3Jan22

Looks like the barge is still picking up at Innskip Point, heres 2 hrs after high tide and some idiots desperate to get to Fraser driving across the point to the barge through the salt water on a sand bar that may or not be stable.................. (pic Rainbow Beach Towing) ............ This time of year we get some good tides even more so with a storm pushing the water as well..........
