Tip for a young fellow. Apparently gas alarms eat themselves alive, ie deteriorate by function. I put a switch on mine so i can turn it on only when its needed to extend its lifeLooks like my Camec job it's hard wired...was about $35 years back.
win win, same result. doesnt matter how you get thereInteresting mine is shut down until we hit the road along with my O2 sensor or whatever it is.... Not for that reason though just because no need for it to run.
toaster and smoke detectors going off are like birds chirping in the mornings at caravan parksDid a Googly on the subject and they seem to reckon 5-7 years in some, less in others, I just test mine every so often like the smoke and CO jobs......mine is now 6 years old... If it keeps the green light it will stay.....well no need to test smoke alarm, its friends with the toast rack.
