Has anyone perfected the art of keeping the bed area dry when it rains? No matter how I set up the flys, poles and guy ropes, if it rains we get wet.

The rain runs down the fly, then goes down the mesh sides and hits the side wall of the canvas.

Appreciate any tips.

With my old Dove I managed to keep the mesh away at the pole end ok but where the bed fly is secured at the body end it was close to the canvas so I used a piece of wood (10mm dowl) about 200 mm long with a thin screw in one end to go through the eyelet and propped the mesh away from the canvas.
Another trick is to get some coreflute (the stuff for sale signs are made from) and put it at each end of the bed and along the side between your mattress, bedding and the canvas. Measure the thickness of all you bedding and make it about 150 mm bigger and then there is no way you mattress or bedding will touch the canvas. when packing up just store it under the mattress and you will always have it handy for rainy camping. after I started doing this I never had damp bedding again.
Cheers
