Had my 'just before the warranty expires' service yesterday.

Part of the service was to check the anode on the hot water system.

The 21.64-1 is only 11 months old, but the anode was more than 1/2 consumed.

I would have expected them to last 2 years or more, so just a heads up to keep an eye on the anode and check it at least every 12 months

Yep 12 months is pretty much the norm for am amode.

It also depends on water quality too. I've replaced mine a couple of times and they have both been different each time.

I wonder if there's any difference if it's used regularly or not, mine was changed about 12 mths ago has virtually only had rain water running thru it and has been used at least 14 weeks in the last 12mths, might have a look tomorrow and see whats what.

We seem to do ours twice a year. Can't afford not to... Don't forget to do your anode in your how's at home too..

We're lucky, ours is a Truma b10/b14 electric gas hotwater service. All stainless steel and no anode to worry about.
