Hi All, another new one to the forum, hoping to be a new one to the Expanda club in the very near future. We have sold the old (first) van and are ready to buy our first brand new Expanda. We have settled on the Out Back model of the 17 series, still tossing up which one to go with. Just a couple of questions for the experienced men and women out there. What are the added options that you think are very important and also is there much wiggle room on the price when buying new from a dealer.
Very Excited.

Welcome @Brad43 we had a 17:56.2 and loved it, then we got old and the bed was a little too hard so we bought a pop top Sterling
We did have an extended draw bar which made reversing a lot easier (IMO)
Drop down external table is a must
Ensuite is a must
most everything is there, but I'm sure others will pop in and help spend your hard earned

Welcome to the forum @Brad43, my fav options @DRW has already mentioned. Ive had 3 Jaycos and always found them prepared to negotiate. The storm covers are a bit of a nuisance to fit each time, but are terrific for insulation in both summer and winter. We only use it in extreme weather but its certainly worth having then.

If you order a TV bracket, they block the wall for it. If you dont order the bracket, or TV now, ensure they block the wall for the bracket. Jayco walls are polystyrene and if you dont ask for the wall blocking you wont get it, and you cant successfully screw too much to polystyrene.

Your in a great positon because you know what you want, have the cash and are are ready to buy. Don't be shy about ringing every dealer you can find. Good luck

G'day @Brad43 ,

We're waiting on delivery of our first Jayco van which we ordered at a caravan/camping show. Best move ever as we had researched exactly what we wanted, had two quotes with us on the day and stood our ground on extras. In the end the dealer at the show gave us a package which slashed literally thousands off the nearest quote AND he threw more extras in than we knew what to do with.

It's coming up to show season so worth the wait if you aren't in too much of a rush.

Best of luck mate.
