Just read a thing on the soon to be here Raptor, sounds like its all bling with a 2lt twin turbo, 10 speed box, auto and diesel only with a 2.5 ton tow cap.........lost me when I saw 2lt engine but jaw drop with the 2.5t toe cap, sounds like a show pony sadly.
Who would want to tow with 280 70R 17's on anyway, I just don't like tiny 2lt overblown engines, they fair whip along but I don't think they would last the distance in the long run, thats a lot of pressure they have running to make up for the lack of capacity.
I read the same article. Not sure on the reduced towing just being related to the new coil spring suspension, plenty of 4x4 wagons are 3T or more with coil springs.
Either way, I wouldn’t seriously consider it as a family tourer. Rangers are way to overpriced for my liking. This model is likely to be even more expensive!

I 100% agree there
no substitute for cubic inches unfortunately
yes a 6 cyl will most probably be more expensive to run, over a twin turbo 4
but it will last longer and not be so highly strung, and do the job in ease............
Nooooo substitute for cubes
7.3 lt intercooled turbo diesel
13 lt per 100 kl town use
22 lt per 100 kl towing, rolling weight just under 9 ton truck n van
Ah I miss my big girl !!!!! you could never find anywhere to park her but she was worth it.
