Hi everyone,

Just bought our first caravan (04’ Expanda). An upgrade from the family tent which became too much to set up with 3 kids under 6!

All seems good so far but We have a small amount of water coming in the front bed end when the lid is shut. Seems to be sitting in the bottom corner of the bed end.
I’m thinking it requires new seal. Does anyone know where I can buy one?? Can’t seem to find them online? I’m searching “jayco expanda bed end seal” but getting nothing!!

Thank-you!! Looking forward to many years of use .

There are some threads regarding this subject with many replies and pics, water can get in thru the hinge area or around the locks. A way to check where is to run a layer of chalk over the seal then close the lid up where the chalk isn't transferred then good chance thats a spot for a leak, look for snail trails in dust and chalk if you hose it all down when closed.......
Add some pics if possible always is a great help for diagnosis of problems.
Most of us find new rubber seals from Clark Rubber type shops, better range.

Seal seems ok with chalk test, but getting wet in this one spot only. (Photos attached)
Maybe safe to put in a new seal just to be sure? Is this a matter of just peaking off the old one( 2014 model so assuming it’s that old) and putting on new one??

Thank you

The 04 models had a different bed end to my 14.44 of 09, it had a hard lid so not sure of the seal but shouldn't be too difficult.
Someone is bound to chime in.

Could water get in here and wet the matters and ply floor???
Small seals Along the aluminium frame border seem old and cracked in places

anywhere along that seam would be suspect, higher up especially.

I just bought some seal, It was black from Bunnings as Clark rubber was much more expensive for the same thing( and yes it was black as well). I will try and take a picture of the stuff tonight.
