Engel In Van Whilst Travelling

Not sure if discussed here before

If you have 12v socket in van, and you connect Engel to it, would you be able to travel and keep running if battery switch is flicked over to 12v ?

Ie. Save room in tow vehicle

Yes works, we carry our 110lt evakool in the van and plug it in, never had a problem.

Yep, we travel at times with 60L waeco in van, I did however wire another socket for this as waeco is a bit sensitive to voltage drop due to light gauge wires.

Ive moved mine into the van instead of the ute because the drain on the Aux battery in the ute with the expanda fridge and the engel drawing from it was too much now the Engel draws from the Van battery and the Expanda fridge from the Ute and all is good. Thought about fitting a DC DC Charger because the Aux battery is in the tray of the ute but it was easier to put the engel in the Van

Hey Paulie
Yup works a treat. My father in law runs like this. He now has a Waeco and finds the Waeco sensitive to the light gauge wire where as the engel was not.

Handy for cold drinks and lunch in the tug but would free up a hell of a lot more room
