we recently bought some solar panels from ebay
1x 80 watt $200 folding kit
1x240 watt $480 folding kit
most of the cheap folding kits you buy from ebay have a rubish regulator
so we bought an mppt 30amp reg from ebay for $200
we did some tests last weekend to see how they performed were quite happy
weather was mid 20s and a little cloudy at times
conected to anderson plug straight to battery the 80 watt was putting out about 3 watts
but the battery was fairly full.what i did was turn the fridge onto 12 volt and rechecked.
80 watt was 4.5 amps with the battery under load
the 240 watt was putting out 7.1 with the fridge of and 12.7 with the fridge on.
im in the process of mounting reg into van ill be using heavy gauge wire for everything
including wires from panels to anderson plug that will be mounted on the a frame.
the wires that come with the kits are pretty small so we should get better amps out of them.
so will retest with all new wires and a full sunny day around 25 and ill repost the results
but so far were very happy.
