Hi all

I was wondering if anyone has come up with a way to put on a door lock / latch on the freezer part of the fridge , similar to the one on the bottom of the fridge that is used when travelling. The reason being is that when we close the freezer door its not closing properly without having to lift it up slightly, it seems to have a bit of give in the hinge which doesn't help when you have kids and they don't close it properly.

Any thoughts and ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Caren

Sounds like a warrantable issue to me. In my opinion it would be reasonable to assume that a freezer door would close properly.

Apart from the freezer door issue, how do you find that fridge?

If it's a job you can do yourself I reckon it's far better to do it yourself than go thru the hassle of trying to get something done under warranty, it takes ages, takes a lot of your time and from most reports the job isn't done properly anyway..................major issues like it's melted etc of course but little stuff no.

Hi Dobbie we find the fridge not too bad, its our first caravan so we really have nothing to compare it to but it certainly does the job keeping the fridge cold and the freezer frozen. We use a wireless fridge thermometer to keep a check on the temp inside the fridge. It has the 2 fan settings which certainly helps in the warmer weather here in Wa.

I saw it mentioned in the specs about having a fan, and have to ask, is that an internal fan to keep the air flowing around the food, or an external fan at the rear to make the heat/cooling parts of the 3-way system work more effectively?

From my understanding......there are two fans built in and they're for keeping the air circulating around the back of the fridge.....keeps it working better in high temps.

I'm not sure but think that gives it a tropical rating.

Anyway, we added two fridge fans behind our dometic fridge on the previous van and they worked beautifully. It struggled before that.
