Carefree awning vinyl

I bought my van 2nd hand (1 year old) and I am a little concerned at the state of the vinyl of the awning. I'll give Jayco a call to see what the warranty is on the awning but the vinyl is wavy at the edges and in the middle there seems to be a strengthening strap and the vinyl is not smooth there either. Anyone have the same problem?

The wavy edges are probably from the previous owner using deflappers! Im not sure about the middle bit sorry

How would the de-flappers cause the wavyness, I'm guessing stretching? Is it a bad thing? Am I worried about nothing do you think?

I have strected mine with de flappers. It looks poxy but doesn't seem to affect the awning.
