Caravan Parks, Free Camps

We are planning 6 week trip leaving Adelaide & heading towards Geelong.
Planning to stop at Glenelg River first for a kayak fish, then head down to Warrnambool.
Has anyone got some good spots to stop, free or CP.
Would like to be near water as we will have 2 Hobie Kayaks with us.

I have stayed for a few days in a caravan park just out of Warnambool (can't remember the name) it was extremely clean and could not fault it. But we have said if we went that way again we would stay one township further on in Port Fairy. It was a beautiful town that smacked of plenty of history and things to see. I remember noting a caravan park on the inlet from memory that we were going to look at when we went back that way again.
