hello all wise people, our van ensuite has a camec drop down vanity sink ,this unit has caused us ongoing trouble over the years to to the point i am thinking of taking it out completly and sheeting the area to become a shelf unit, has any body done anything like that ? and are there any tips? ,we have had issues with pressure pipes leaking ,back up from kitchen sink leaking out where sink drain joins the greywater exit, the whole unit is going yellow and the plastic is brittle and cracking, each long trip we now come up with a new issue, the grief and damage this sink has caused does not make us confident in spending around $600 for exactly the same unit which could lead to the same issues as time goes on, any comments will gladly be taken aboard,

Screwing to the knotty unfinish pine is a quality touch. The structural schematic says "just whack a screw in it"
You are correct a rusty screw holds the whole thing in place oboviously the concept of ribbed hoses creeping up on rough roads has escaped them, there was nothing holding the vanity hose in place except gravity

adding to the thread about bedroom walls ,the composite sheeting being spoken of ,I have purchased from a sign writer for $55 a sheet one side is gloss and one side matt finish, very user friendly just score and snap for straight line ,but can be cut with fine jig saws if complicated patterns are needed, use aluminium or pvc.angle for outside corners, silicone for inside angles, the same waterproof silicon was used as internal glue but any liquid nails will hold it in place, I used silicon just in case I had to remove the sheeting as the Reno progressed.missus was not happy when I started pulling out the basin wall but is very happy with the end result
