Bridport is located on the north-east coast of Tasmania and was a large fishing port, until someone/something burnt down the wharf! The township has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Up the road are two sensational golf courses - Barnbougle Dunes and Barnbougle Lost Farm. The local Bridport Golf Course is also a great track and cost significantly less than the others.

The Bridport Caravan Park is situated on the foreshore of Anderson Bay. There are both powered and unpowered sites. All sites have water in easy reach. There were pleanty of big rigs when we were there - just let the managers know the size of your van and they will make sure you are right to get in.

Ammenities are clean and there are also laundries and showers - you have to pay for a shower.

We stayed for 8 nights over Christmas/New Year for $168 on an unpowered site (using solar and an inverter) that was 30 meters from the beach. Kids loved it, as did the adults. Fantastic rates. Nice and clean and fairly quiet - even on New Years Eve! Camp fires were allowed. as long as they are in a fire pit off the ground. Added a nice camping feel being able to sit around the fire at night.

Would go back there again tomorrow - only we would have to take the van across on the Spirit of Tasmania again, which is not a cheap exercise.
