Hi brakes are one of the things that I never mess around with its best left to the pros ,can be as simple as the park brake sticking on, or complications with the brake controller causing issues ,heat means some type of friction, but what is causing it.? Go to a pro and be safe, best of luck

If you have backed off the shoes then more than likely the bearings are too tight, best way to check is drive around the block but don't have the van brakes plugged in, (then only the tug brakes will work , unless you have big hills etc) if hubs are getting warm you have bearings too tight.....

To save me going over it all again.... http://www.withoutahitch.com.au/caravan/how-to-re-pack-trailer-wheel-bearings/

When doing the brakes I find once I have a nice adjustment I get someone to spin the dickens out of the wheel and I pull the brakesafe pin, wheel should lock and not be able to turn.

If the electric brake controller or the brakesafe play up you will have all brakes come on not just one or 2...
