dont know if it is the best but you do choose your battery type and is mppt.
I have the MPP 420 and the LCD screen, got it fron NZ on ebay.
I got it because of the lithium setting.

I had this one in my '05 expanda and it showed everything .
The stock one doesn't even show what the panels are doing
I also have one of these at home in my garage with 100W solar panel on the roof and use it to give my ride on mower (and until I sold it) my Avan batteries charged. I will use it to charge the batteries on my new Jayco when it arrives. We have very cold winters and this solar charger / regulator kept both batteries in good condition. It automatically went between Absorption, Float and Bulk charging modes and provided lots of useful information. A good charger in my opinion, got it off eBay, but no longer have the URL.
