In the 17.56 we have three switches on the face of the cupbaord where the battery would go. Of course none are labelled.
We were told be the dealer that the first was the battery and pump switch, the second to turn on the HWS (240v), and the third for the HWS if on gas (with red lamp).

We were having a problem with what sounded like a water knock whenever the tap was used, but would turn off if I turned off the 240v hws switch. Jayco had it for a service and said it was a bad hose connection.

Its taken a while :) but I've come to the realisation that the switches appear to be battery/pump/gas HWS and the 240v hws is controlled on the outside only. Is this correct? If the second switch is pump, is there anything else normally on that circuit?

Our 2011 16.49.2 has battery, pump and gas hws switches only. As you said, hws 240v is via the switch outside, or inside where the hws 240v lead plugs in to the power point.

The switches are battery, pump and Gas HW. There was a thread a while back about thumps coming from water pumps when left on without being used for an hour or so but not while the pump was in use. If it occurs while pump is running then, as CD says, probably air in the line.

thanks all.
The air would make sense, since the pump being on drained the tank and thus sucked air instead....
